Tell us about the company, Jackie.
Earthy Nail Polish was born in 2021, from a frustration towards unsustainable cosmetic products that do more harm than good to your nails. Our mission is to provide the highest quality product with the least impact on the environment. This is achieved by using natural origin and bio-sourced materials with sustainable packaging.
We have produced a 21 free, natural origin nail polish, that is guaranteed to ISO 16128. Combined with the Earthy Base and Top Coat, our polishes ensure longevity and high shine and form part of a wide range of 30 beautiful colours and treatments. We are proud to be short listed in the Pure Beauty Awards 2021 for Best New British Brand.
The product was created by myself, for ten years I was the Managing Director of a company behind major brands that sold in 84 countries worldwide.
I have studied sustainable strategies at Harvard Business school and have this year completed the Sustainable Circular Economy program at Cambridge University Judge Business school - which we will utilise as part of our Recycle Reuse Program in the UK.
Who do you sell to?
We sell online and on Amazon, we also sell at Vegan Markets around the country. Our sister brand Nailture sells on the continent in a number of leading mass market retailers.
Is there a specific product you're particularly proud of and why?
We use natural origin and bio-sourced materials with sustainable packaging, and are particularly proud of our bamboo cap which was designed to replace single use plastic and is also naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial. This has been recognised through our nomination for the Best Special Innovation - Pure Beauty Awards 2021.
We are exceptionally proud of our 99% natural Remover that is 100% acetone and acetate free and gentle enough to be massaged into cuticles for hydration. This product has been short listed in the Pure Beauty Awards 2021.
What do you most enjoy about running your business?
The ability to give back. We have been able to do this through the creation of special nail polish collections, such as Stop Hate and NHS Charities Together.
We are also proud that we have removed single use plastic caps for sustainable bamboo caps at an affordable price. Beauty doesn’t have to come at cost to our planet.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a great believer in continuous improvement and enjoy learning new things, I am always on the hunt for a good book or to take up a new course. I have recently started learning French, as my son is learning it at school, and its always fun to be able to travel together and converse with people in their native tongue.
